Hotel Maintenance Self Employeed

Job description
- Must have working knowledge of Electrics, Plumbing, and Wood work Carpentry and Decorating.
- ensure the monthly testing of RCD's , and visual checking of electrics and all other Health & Safety monthly tasks, weekly fire tests, six month evacuation and recording of the above.
- Fixing any safety hazards
- Putting together furniture and other equipment
- Installing appliances and machinery
- Doing minor plumbing and carpentry in hotel
- Liaising with contractors and other workers
- Clearing common areas
- Assisting Housekeeping with the Room Maintenance and Laundry Delivery
- To arrange and to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps and clean up spillages as required.
- To clean light fittings and to test lighting systems weekly replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs, fuses starters and diffusers, in accordance with safe working practices.
- To ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, make adjustments as necessary and reports defects and malfunctions to the Management.
- To undertake porterage tasks as required including setting up and clearing away furniture.
- To undertake handypersons duties as directed by the Management as outlined below:
- Rooms Painting and Decorating – as required joinery- First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism etc.
- Joinery- First line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples: tightening screws on window hinges, maintenance on door handles, minor repairs as a temporary measure after break-ins, vandalism etc.
- Internal Glazing – Remedial action after break-ins, for example boarding up of broken windows.
- To control the provision and replenish toiletry items, including requisition, storage and distribution of such items.
- To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric and water supply to the Management or where not immediately available technical services or regular contractors, and report minor faults on site to the Business Manager.
- Must be familiar with communicating effectively with his own phone via email and WhatsApp and phone as there is a need to follow up when liaising with other contractors and Members of the Hotel teams.
