Job Role:
Hostel Support Worker (4 on, 4 off)

Salary: £24,500 per year

Hours: Rota basis working 4 on, 4 off – week one 11:00 – 22:00, week two 10:30 – 21:30

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Bath

  • Working on a rota of 4 on 4 off with shift patterns of 11:00 – 22:00 and 10:30 – 21:30


About the role:

Are you ready to make a real difference every single day? We’re on the lookout for a passionate and resilient Hostel Support Worker to join our team on a permanent 4-on, 4-off shift pattern.


Based at our vibrant Manvers Street Hostel, you’ll be part of a dedicated team providing person-centred support to individuals experiencing rough sleeping across the local area. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where your compassion, adaptability, and problem-solving skills will shine.


Operating 24/7, 365 days a year, our hostel is a dynamic and rewarding environment—no two days are ever the same. If you thrive in a setting where you can have a genuine impact and support people on their journey to stability and independence, we’d love to hear from you!


Responsibilities include:

  • Give clients advice and information, providing an enabling service so they can access the appropriate services
  • Ensure all clients are provided with a high-quality person-centred service
  • Maintain client records so they are accurate and fully updated
  • Responsible for the day-to-day health and safety, and safe running of the hostel


Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the post holder may be required to undertake other duties, which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities


Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of Julian House clients
  • Good communication skills to build relationships with clients and external agencies
