We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes within West Dunbartonshire. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their independence in accordance with the Health and Social Care Standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care setting and possess a strong commitment to improving the quality of life for those they serve.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Catheter Care
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Administer/provide support with medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Support clients with mobility needs, transfers and positioning, using appropriate equipment, aids and adaptions.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and free from hazards. Assist with light housekeeping tasks ( e.g., cleaning, laundry
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals regarding care plans and any concerns.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a care role is preferred, but not essential.
- A genuine passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible and empathetic attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and care plans.
- A DBS check will be required
A valid driver’s license and use of own car is required for this post
