We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term, Full Time role as Highway Infrastructure Officer to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the Highway Service.
About the role:
The primary duty of this post is to help support the development of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure in the City. The post will support with increasing the utilisation of the network and new initiatives to promote the change to EV.
Some of your other duties will include:
- Analyse data from infrastructure to look for, trends and patterns, utilisation, areas for improvements, unit reliability, future development, and cost savings.
- Support the operation and improvement of Highways and EV infrastructure and installation of new assets.
- To assist with the rollout of the new Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure project.
- Supporting the delivery of the Highway Service and its wider infrastructure improvements.

The successful candidate will need to be:
- Highly skilled and confident with a range of different IT systems. Very experienced with Microsoft systems, specifically Excel.
- Experience of analysing data from different sources. Interpreting data to find patterns and useful information.
- Good customer relationship skills, confident dealing with public enquires via email or phone/ virtual calls and face to face.
- Experience of working with minimal supervision while meeting objectives and expectations without constant direction.
It would also be desirable if you had:
- Knowledge of EV systems and infrastructure, including current national regulations
- Basic understanding of Streetworks and highways

Salary: The salary band for this role is £36,124 - £39,513. The starting salary is £36,124 with annual progression through the salary band.
