This is an exciting opportunity to work within this diverse, forward thinking multidisciplinary team within the Day Intervention Unit, Victoria Hospital.
The Fife Wide Endoscopy service operates on three sites. There are 4 endoscopy rooms and 21 recovery beds at Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy, 2 Endoscopy rooms and 8 recovery beds at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline and one endoscopy room and 8 recovery beds at St Andrews Community Hospital.
The successful candidate will be based in the endoscopy decontamination unit at the Victoria hospital, although rotation to Queen Margaret and St Andrews may be required.
A significant part of this post is the cleaning, disinfecting, reprocessing and maintenance of endoscopes and endoscopy equipment. You will also be expected at times to work in endoscopy rooms during procedures, within the admission and recovery area of the unit delivering high quality patient care and housekeeping tasks and complete the Mandatory Induction Standards for New Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs)
The successful candidate will also be expected to complete the required 9 modules of the NES Decontamination of RMDs (Reusable Medical Devices) Endoscopy Programme
