Unit Engineers & Constructors Ltd have an immediate position available for a long Term Health & Safety Advisor.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and highly motivated person that can work alongside an already established team to support and promote a positive health and safety culture.
Main Responsibilities:
- Carry out site inspections and audits
- Collect, analyse, and report on HSE performance data to identify trends and drive improvement initiatives
- Manage and lead accident and incident investigations
- Review Accident Reports and Dangerous Occurrences and assist line management to implement measure to minimise the risk of repeat occurrences.
- Carry out for cause and random D&A testing as required
- Support the development of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and COSHH assessments as required
- Support and advise management, supervision and workers on health and safety issues, helping to embed best practices across the site.
- Lead the development and delivery of health and safety training programs, toolbox talks, and induction sessions for all employees and contractors. Attend in-house and client meeting as required.
- Ensure that appropriate records are maintained in compliance with legal requirements
- You will monitor and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to construction and site activities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement culture and encourage behavioural safety practices across all levels of site operations
- Report HSE performance as required to the HSE Manager.
- Cover for HSE manager as and when required
- Carrying out other tasks as directed by the HSE Manager
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience of HSE (ideally in Petrochem, Oil & Gas). Hold as a minimum “NEBOSH General certificate
- Proficient use of Microsoft Word / Forms / Power Point, and Excel Good organisational and time-management skills
- Strong leadership skills to support a positive H&S culture
- Full driving license
- Administration experience
- Good interpersonal skills and a team player
- Flexible attitude
- Able to work on own initiative
- Presents a professional and smart image at all times
