Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist patients with daily activities. Strong communication skills in English are essential for this role, as you will be required to interact effectively with both patients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support patients in daily living activities, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, monitoring patient progress and reporting any changes.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide updates on patient status.
- Document patient care activities accurately in line with organisational policies.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to IT systems used for patient management.
- Drive to various locations if required for home care assignments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving home visits.
- A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Basic IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
