Responsibilities:
We are offering an excellent opportunity and are looking to recruit two innovative and motivated individuals to work in our newly developing multi-agency Family Hubs Single point of contact in Calderdale. The role will be part of the 0-5 Calderdale Public Health Early Years’ service health visiting and 5-19 Public Health Young People Service School Nursing teams within Locala.
The Calderdale Health Visiting and School Nursing Service service are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic nursery nurse (or equivalent) to join the multi-agency single point of contact for families team, based at Princess Building in central Halifax. The role is a new and exciting addition to the existing early support contact centre for Calderdale families. It will link closely to the Calderdale 0-19 services.
The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children, families and communities and play a fundamental role in the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme, promoting child development, safeguarding children, preventing social exclusion and deprivation and tackling important public health issues.
As an experienced and qualified Nursery Nurse or NVQ equivalent you will be expected to work as part of a team delivering high quality support, advice and signposting to families within the Calderdale area as part of a contact centre. Excellent communication skills, an ability to think on your feet and a flexible approach to work is required for the role.
A commitment to work in partnership with other children’s statutory and voluntary agencies is essential in order to improve the outcomes for children, and in addressing health inequalities of the diverse populations we serve.
Experience of working with families demonstrating high levels of need is desirable but not essential as support, preceptorship and professional development is available.
