In this key role you will be responsible for driving strategy, technology-enabled project delivery, small enhancements, and application support Salesforce application support for the SmartestEnergy Ltd Commercial, Industrial and generation energy retail IT estate.
How will I spend my time in this role?
- Actively contribute to the global IT & Change leadership team as a core member;
- Coach, mentor and develop staff to assist them in being the best IT professional that they can be;
- Direct a team of IT professionals, manage their work and performance, motivating them to provide their best work, assess their performances, and hire more resources into the team as the team size changes;
- Build strong relationships to become a trusted advisor and business partner to key stakeholders;
- Undertake IT demand management for the UK energy retail IT estate, and act as principal manager for the portfolio of technology change;
- Support the process of jointly building the business case for change with commercial colleagues, and in conjunction with Head of Architecture ensure that the solutions are fit for purpose for delivering the desired commercial outcome;
- Drive delivery of a portfolio of projects, ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints whilst being compliant with the company’s agreed enterprise architecture blueprint;
- Ensure a cost effective and sustainable Salesforce application support model is in place for the UK energy retail IT landscape, and performance against agreed service level agreements is measured and reported;
- Act as the principal domain expert for energy retail technology and keep track of latest industry developments and innovations.
What skills/experience do I need to be successful?
Significant experience developing technology strategy and systems design in an energy retail environment covering sales, customer operations, industry interface and back-office process;
