About the Role:

We are hiring a Head of Region – Africa to lead our business growth across the continent. This is more than just a role – it's an opportunity to own a regional P&L, on a career track aimed at developing future GMs, COOs, and CPOs.

We're looking for a commercially-minded, analytical, and customer-obsessed product leader with deep familiarity with African markets to shape and execute the strategic roadmap for this critical region.

You Will:

  • Own the Regional P&L: Deliver performance against annual business plans and budgets, optimizing for long-term customer lifetime value (LTV) and attractive unit economics.
  • Drive Strategic Clarity & Executional Excellence: Build and execute region-wide strategies across product, pricing, marketing, customer experience, and regulatory functions.
  • Champion Customer Empathy: Serve as the voice of the African customer segments, integrating their preferences and pain points into tailored product and value propositions.
  • Shape and Influence Cross-Functional Roadmaps: Collaborate with global teams across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Pricing, Risk, and Compliance to advocate for African market priorities.
  • Lead with Integrative Thinking: Connect dots across metrics, customer behavior, external factors, and internal strategies to craft holistic growth plans and scalable frameworks.
  • Develop and Prioritise Business Cases: Identify growth opportunities, assess trade-offs, and influence roadmap prioritization using structured customer/business impact frameworks.
  • Lead high-impact initiatives and team: Uplevel business reviews, OKRs, and strategic planning for the region; provide strategic clarity and lead high-impact initiatives.
  • Deliver product: You will have a grasp over the technical aspects of product delivery and/or data analytics, driving velocity in insight generation and shipping velocity for the customers that you serve.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in fintech, consumer tech, strategy consulting, financial services, or e-commerce – ideally with emerging markets exposure.
  • Experience working in or with African markets; strong preference for candidates from the diaspora with a deep understanding of the region's regulatory and consumer landscape.
  • A "roll-up-the-sleeves" mindset combined with strategic depth and a strong desire to win.
  • Experience operating in a global matrixed environment with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to own and manage P&Ls, with strong understanding of drivers for high-volume, high-frequency transaction businesses.
  • Demonstrated skill in data modelling, business analytics, and hypothesis-driven decision making.
  • Structured thinker able to manage ambiguity, influence diverse teams, and lead with heart, business sense, and insight.
  • A strong grasp of FX markets and proven track record in making high stakes risk decisions.
  • Strong preference for candidates with remittance industry experience

What Sets You Apart:

You operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and empathy, and are excited to grow as a future GM. You thrive in roles that demand ownership across:

  • Customer Understanding (Heart) – deeply empathise with customer needs and design experiences tailored to their context.
  • Unit Economics (Business) – understand LTV, CAC, pricing, and promo mechanics with fluency.
  • Product & Data (Technical) – drive roadmaps in partnership with product/engineering; articulate analytical asks independently.
  • Strategic Integration – connect the dots across departments and geographies, bringing clarity to complexity.
  • Leadership – influence, align, and elevate across teams while delivering scalable, sustainable growth.
