We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to oversee the delivery of a full range of soft facilities management services with a focus on cleaning and catering at one of our key hospital sites, working in close partnership with the NHS. This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring outstanding service delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all aspects of the contract.
The RoleAs Head of Operations, you will take responsibility for the strategic and day-to-day management of all soft FM services, including cleaning, catering and other support services. Acting as the senior operational lead on-site, you will drive performance, champion innovation, and ensure the highest standards of service are consistently delivered for patients, staff, and visitors.
You will build strong, collaborative relationships with NHS stakeholders, ensuring services are aligned with hospital needs and national standards. Working closely with the Operations Director, you will be accountable for contract performance, compliance, financial sustainability, and the wellbeing of your teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, inspire, and develop operational teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality services.
Act as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring a proactive and solutions-focused partnership.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, sustainability, and service innovation.
Oversee budget management, ensuring financial targets are met through effective cost control and operational efficiency.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements, embedding a zero-incident culture.
Deliver clear reporting, performance analysis, and operational insights to the Operations Director and client teams.
We’re looking for a confident and resilient leader with experience managing multi-service facilities management contracts in a large, complex, and multi-stakeholder environment. You’ll bring:
A strong track record of operational leadership in FM or a related service industry.
Proven ability to manage client relationships at a senior level, preferably within the healthcare sector.
Experience managing large teams and creating a culture of engagement, accountability, and performance.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience overseeing budgets and driving efficiencies.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
