We're looking for an experienced and confident Head of Events to lead our events department on a fixed-term maternity cover.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on delivering impactful event experiences and can inspire a team while maintaining high standards.
The Role
You'll have a passion for bringing live experiences to life, and the tenacity, creativity, and an anything-is-possible attitude to deliver exceptional events across all kinds of platforms. We're not just looking for strong project management skills and someone who knows their way around event production (that's a given) but for someone who really gets a kick out of creating memorable moments that move people. and be ready and willing to take projects from brief interrogation to show-stopping execution. Type & Location
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract to January 2027 based in Nottingham. The role requires flexibility for evening and weekend work as required, plus travel to events across the UK and internationally.
Salary
£45-50k dependent on experience.
Role Responsibilities
- Leading and inspiring the Events team, maintaining strong culture and standards within the department
- Overseeing a portfolio of live events from concept through to execution, ensuring delivery meets and exceeds client expectations
- Hands-on: Managing conferences, award shows, meetings, roadshows, sporting events and football tournaments
- Mentoring junior staff and supporting their development throughout the contract period
- Collaborating with company directors and internal teams to shape project briefs and proposals
- Managing departmental budgets and financial planning in alignment with company targets
- Planning workflow and resource allocation, recruiting freelance talent as needed
- Negotiating contracts with venues, suppliers, and service providers
- Building and managing relationships with suppliers including venues, AV, print, entertainment and more
- Implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks and health & safety compliance
- Building and maintaining ongoing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities
- Developing post-event analysis and evaluation processes to improve future events
- Presenting work internally and externally
- Managing multiple projects to hit deadlines and targets within budget
