Little Kickers – Head Coach
Position Overview
As a Head Coach for Little Kickers, you'll play a pivotal role in introducing football to children aged approximately 18 months to 8 years through energetic, imaginative, and engaging weekend sessions. Expect to act as both coach and entertainer, creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where children—and their parents—feel encouraged and excited about movement and play.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver imaginative, football-based activity classes grounded in the Little Kickers program.
- Physically lead and engage in the activities—running drills, games, and making it fun and dynamic for the children.
- Build rapport with children, parents, and assistant coaches, maintaining clear, enthusiastic communication throughout.
- Handle routine administrative tasks—registers, health and safety checks, equipment setup, transport, and storage.
- Champion a safe, inclusive environment that nurtures confidence, coordination, and social development.
- Support session planning and coach engagement.
- Support class planning and communication with the wider coaching community.
- Administrate class balancing and class registration management (class changes).
- Engage in and support management of weekly coaching rotas.
- Implement and support coach conduct via Staff Procedures/ management tools available.
- The role may develop to match the individual’s skill-mix.
What You Should Bring
- Personal qualities: Confident, outgoing, imaginative, patient, and 100% reliable. A winning personality helps make sessions fun and memorable.
- Coaching background: Experience with young children coaching at a Leading level, experience managing team and training new coaches
- Certifications (preferred or required):
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) or equivalent safeguarding check.
- First Aid certification.
- Coaching qualifications (e.g., FA Level 1) or child protection training are beneficial.
- Logistics: A driving license and access to a vehicle for all working days as you will be ‘on the road’.
Hours & Location
- Working hours starting hours of 25 or 30 per week (can increase to 35 over time)
- Working throughout the franchise area.
Area 1 Covers :Dudley, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Hagley, Kidderminster, Halesowen, Quinton, Harborne, Edgbaston and surrounding areas.
Area 2 Covers: Sutton Coldfield, Mere Green, Streetly, Collingwood and surrounding areas.
Area 3 Covers: Wolverhampton (Penn Road), Tettenhall, Bridgnorth, Telford, Shrewsbury and surrounding areas.

Pay: £19,500.00-£28,210.00 per year
