Qualifications:
The successful Fitness Instructor must ideally have:
· Level 2 qualification in Fitness Instructing
· Experience of delivering first class customer service to a diverse client base
· Emergency first aid at work
What's it all about?
You will need to be passionate about our member’s needs, and help by giving advice. You will need to be pro-active and outgoing to communicate with members and uphold a professional relationship. The role is crucial to the gym floor as you will be the first point of contact to answer any queries and help our member’s use the variety of machines that we have available, ensuring equipment is used safely. You will also be teaching a mixture of classes that we have scheduled, and most importantly interacting with members.
What does the role involve?
· You must be able to work shifts and weekends in a busy gym environment delivering excellent customer service
· Encourage members by devising and delivering fitness assessments, programs
· Attend training sessions and departmental meetings as and when requested
· Open up, and close down the department when on the relevant shift in accordance with club procedures (to take on a duty manager role when opening/closing the building)
· Assisting with reception duties and utilising the bookings system so you remain organised and have experience of how we operate in other departments
· To conduct health checks, inductions and fitness assessments with members, and prescribe safe and effective exercise programmes
· To complete regular pool tests in line with our policies and procedures
· To provide a presence on the gym floor and be available at all times to assist members with their exercise programmes and ensure that they are using the equipment correctly
· Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Completing daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance checks in line with the club’s cleaning schedule
· To act in a manner that always puts the member’s health and interests first
· An opportunity to build up a personal training client base
