Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of our landscapes, ensuring that all grounds are kept in excellent condition. This role requires a combination of horticultural knowledge, mechanical skills, and a passion for outdoor work.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as Ride on mowers, self propelled brush cutters for various maintenance tasks.
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal water distribution for plant health.
- Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair.
- Assist in gardening activities including planting, pruning, and fertilising plants.
- Carry out general maintenance tasks to keep the grounds clean and safe for all users.
- Maintain records of work completed and report any issues or concerns to management.
Experience
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various tools and machinery safely.
- Familiarity with horticulture practices and principles is advantageous.
- Experience with gardening techniques and plant care is beneficial.
- Previous experience in construction or similar outdoor work environments is desirable. Requirements
✅ Proven experience in grounds maintenance or vegetation management
✅ Full UK driving licence (clean)
✅ Trailer licence (preferred)
✅ PA1 & PA6 spraying qualifications (preferred)
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅ Strong work ethic and commitment to safe working practices
