Job Summary
The General Maintenance role is essential for ensuring that all facilities and equipment are maintained to the highest standards. This position involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all systems operate efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of mechanical knowledge and electrical experience, along with strong leadership and customer service skills.
Duties
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site, including mechanical, electrical, and
- General building tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, infrastructure, and safety systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report recurring issues.
- Support the setup and relocation of machinery, workstations, and office furniture.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
- Assist with site improvements and refurbishment projects.
Skills
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling and working at heights.
- Familiarity with health and safety practices and regulations.
- Driving licence
