Tabac is on the lookout for a motivated, passionate, and experienced Front of House to join our team! We are an independent French restaurant with a seasonal menu and a welcoming atmosphere. Located in the heart of Clerkenwell, we offer a unique dining experience, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves working as part of a close-knit team.
About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will bring a passion for hospitality and a strong work ethic, with a proven track record in a similar restaurant role. You will be enthusiastic about creating a memorable guest experience and confident in overseeing both front and back of house operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a friendly and positive first impression.
- Assist with seating arrangements and manage reservations efficiently.
- Take food and drink orders accurately, ensuring attention to detail.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while adhering to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, including tables and service stations.
- Support catering events as needed, demonstrating flexibility in various settings.
- Open and closing
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations is preferred.
- Bartending skills are a plus, enhancing the guest experience with beverage service.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to help others, contributing to a supportive team culture.
About Us:
Tabac is a 50-cover, independent restaurant that opened in December 2022. We serve a modern French, seasonal menu and operate seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
The Offer:
- Position: Front of house staff
- Hours: 30 hours-40 hours per week
- Salary: £13 an hour + service charge + tips
- Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off
- Benefits: Meals on duty
