Family Support Worker - North Devon Based

Devon Family Services Child Contact Centre
North Devon, England
Part time

We are looking for a new member of the team to work with our families across North & Mid Devon Ad-Hoc.

We are looking for someone to start immediately!

This Specific Role: The times and hours can vary and although it is currently around 6-12 hours per week we can always be flexible for the right person and if you are prepared to travel (paid!) there are more hours available. Current working pattern is one half day during the week and one full day on the weekend. If you are applying and unable to work weekends we won’t respond, so hopefully you’ve read to the end of this advert so applying doesn’t waste your time, or ours!

This is on a part time basis ad-hoc mainly working late afternoons and weekends with the opportunity for additional work as available. We can be flexible for the right person! This is not a full time role and would suit someone as an additional job role.

*if you’ve applied before, apply again, we haven’t been able to open old applications for this new role*

We offer great rates of pay, flexibility, support, organisation and an opportunity to make a real difference!

You must have access to your own vehicle to move between clients in the community and travel and milage are paid and although you won’t transport families you will need to move around the service area.

Experience of social care, health care or similar helps to show us you have the right values, but the right person is more important than a long CV! We provide training, supervision and ongoing support to best support our families.

About Us:

We provide various support services for children with separated parents, case management and other specialist services. This is delivered in lots of different ways across the South West.

The main part of this particular role is to help children and parents, siblings or other family relatives who don't live together or see each other spend time together in a safe, welcoming and friendly environment supported by our team.

Often this is out in the community (think shopping, parks, soft play, bowling alleys, cinemas, theatres or the local beach!) but sometimes we use community venues like children’s centres, schools, community centres or child and family hubs which are dotted across the service area.

We pride ourself on being professional, maintaining boundaries, being warm and friendly but robust enough when needed. You need to feel comfortable with all of those and be committed to our expectations. We don’t get over-involved, we don’t over-complicate things but we are consistent and professional and that’s why our reputation keeps growing and so does our team!

We want professional, reliable, passionate and fun people - we don't want people whose heart isn't in it. This is peoples families, and what could be more important than that! Those values are what set's us apart and are the reasons we are rapidly expanding and enjoying lots of new partnerships.

You'll need some training, which we can support you with.

You'll need an enhanced DBS which we can support you with.

Milage is paid, and so is your time so don't fret about the fuel bill.

Reliable vehicle access is essential as public transport isn't suitable, so access to a reliable vehicle is essential.

You'll need to know basic IT skills, take notes and be able to write up a quality observations.
