Summary
We are seeking an Enablement Support Worker to join our team at J&K Care Specialists. In this role, you will provide support to people to gain life skills and enhance their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- The enablement project is available for individuals on short term basis and can last between 13 and 26 weeks dependant on the goals to be achieved.
- Tasks could include traveling support, managing budgets, accessing community activities, help apply for benefits and helping to book and attend appointments.
- It is goal based which we will be informed of on individual referrals.
- The support for each client will be between 1 and 4 hours a week.
- Staff need to report if the goals are realistic or not and what is and isn’t working.
- Knowledge of buses to enhance travel training would be ideal.
- Confident in seeking activities that could be accessed.
- Be confident to help with financial paperwork.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a caregiving or support role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to client care.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license is required for transportation needs.
