Delivery Programme – Connect to Work
Subject to contract award, Connect to Work will support Lancashire residents facing barriers to employment, including those with disabilities, health conditions or other challenges. This new government-funded programme, part of the national Get Britain Working strategy, will offer personalised one-to-one guidance from Employment Specialists, rapid job search and sustained in-work support. Participants will benefit from vocational profiling, skills development, access to training and help with workplace adjustments. We will work closely with employers to create inclusive opportunities, ensuring roles match individual strengths and aspirations.
Our community-based approach will build trust, remove barriers and help people secure and thrive in meaningful long-term employment.

Every day is different, but every day matters. As an Employment Specialist, you’ll be a trusted guide for customers referred to the Connect to Work programme. You will help them navigate their journey into employment with confidence and dignity, providing practical support and building connections that create opportunities.
Salary: £29,000-£32,000
Location/travel: This contract will be carried out in: Preston, Chorley, South Ribble & West Lancashire.
What You’ll Do:
- Build trust with customers and co-create personalised “My Success Plans” and employability toolkits
- Help people overcome barriers and feel work-ready — from CV prep to confidence building
- Connect with employers to create inclusive roles and advocate for job carving and adjustments
- Provide post-placement support to ensure sustainable, supported employment
- Collaborate with health teams and community partners through MDT meetings and shared plans
- Uphold a zero-rejection approach — if someone wants to work, we help make it happen
Your Skills & Experience:
- Have the ability to embrace our company values which are Kindness, Respect, Integrity, and Innovation!
- Passion for helping others, with empathy, patience and drive
- Experience supporting people with health conditions or complex needs (or lived experience)
- Confidence working independently and flexibly in the community
- Excellent people skills and the ability to shift perceptions around disability and mental health
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model
- Experience in employment services, social care, or vocational rehabilitation
- Mental Health First Aid training or safeguarding awareness
