This part–time post (23 hours per week), is available immediately on a permanent basis. The working pattern will be three days per week (7 hours, 40 minutes per day), preferably Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with occasional demand to flex these days (to be agreed in advance), in line with the demands of the work.

The role will include occasional early mornings and evening work (again, to be agreed in advance), during busy periods.

This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

We reserve the right to close the advert early if we receive enough applications, so please don’t delay in applying if you want to be considered for the role.

Summary of the role

The Employer Events Team are responsible for delivering a varied programme of employability and careers-focused activities throughout the academic year, including: careers fairs; recruitment presentations; panel talks; mock interviews; Instagram lives and promotional events.

The post holder will plan, organise and deliver these employer and alumni-focused events, both virtually and on-campus, as well as undertake and support student, employer and alumni communications and marketing, plus all other tasks associated with event management.

About you

We are seeking a proactive, highly motivated and extremely organised individual, with a 'can-do' attitude. Your administrative experience will ensure you have the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines under pressure and manage multiple tasks - switching between them as required with ease, whilst maintaining accuracy. You will be committed to providing exceptional customer service at all times.

You will have excellent communication skills, liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders such as employers, alumni, students and staff, to facilitate the successful delivery of events and will develop strong working relationships with employers to support their recruitment needs.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in event management in a Higher Education setting. Familiarity delivering virtual events would be advantageous but full training will be given. The post holder will undertake supervision of student staff so previous line management experience would be desirable.

About the team

The Employer Events Team sits within Employer Engagement and Student Employment (EESE), the employer-facing side of the University of Exeter’s Careers Service. EESE consists of several teams delivering a wide range of services to facilitate employer and alumni engagement in order to support student progression into graduate-level employment. EESE forms part of the wider ‘Student Employability and Academic Success’ division.

SEAS resides within the Education and Student Support Directorate which is responsible for providing key education and administrative support activities that underpin the student experience.
SEAS consists of professional services teams that provide a portfolio of educational activities to assist students with the development of their academic, professional, personal, career and employability attributes throughout their time at University, including global experience opportunities. Provision is delivered within the curriculum, and in collaboration with Faculties and academic departments, through extra-curricular activity and through facilitating access to work and study opportunities on campus, across the UK and globally.
SEAS colleagues work collaboratively in the delivery of such provision with students, academics, employers, business intermediaries, alumni, other professional services, University stakeholders and higher education partners. SEAS collates data for internal management purposes and contributes to mandatory data compliance reporting for Government and other external stakeholders.
