Employee Relations Advisor

A brilliant opportunity has opened up in the People team here at JCT600 of Employee Relations Advisor.


Working alongside an incredibly supportive Employee Relations advisor and a team of People Business Partners, your role will be a rich mix of policy development, employee relations case management, organisation change, coaching and learning and development – a brilliant opportunity to learn and grow personally and professionally while helping us create the very best colleague experience for our teams.


As our Employee Relations advisor, your role is to support the JCT600 people ambition by developing and maintaining a trusted and positive working environment for our colleagues. We’ll look to you to continuously improve our people practices, coaching managers to help them lead and manage their people in the very best way.

Location:
The role can be located in the following areas across Yorkshire: Leeds/ Bradford/ Doncaster/ Wakefield/ Sheffield.


Key Responsibilities will include:


  • Promoting and supporting an inclusive working environment in accordance with the Company’s values, coaching managers to create the best environments for their colleagues to thrive.
  • Leading on employee relations casework including conflict resolution, investigation meetings, disciplinary hearings, absence management, performance management and organisational change.
  • Supporting People/ER processes undertaken to make sure they are compliant with employment legislation and Company values, minimising the Company’s risk financially and upholding the Company’s reputation.
  • Via a coaching approach, providing commercially sound ER related advice and support to management teams and the People team.
  • Delivering training to line managers on ER related topics.
  • Identifying and escalating ER related risk and emerging trends and taking responsibility for actions agreed (e.g. coaching/ training)
  • Supporting on the management of escalated casework, through early conciliation, completion of ET3 forms and production of Employment Tribunal Bundles.
  • The accurate and timely update of required workload trackers and ER MI data, watching trends and suggesting solutions to help us continuously improve the colleague experience
  • Support the ongoing development of the Employee Relations support to managers and colleagues, including policy development, manager and colleague support.
  • The successful completion of ER related ad-hoc projects.


Qualifications:


  • CIPD level 5 qualification, or to be currently working towards this, is desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing ER casework and policy development to achieve commercial results in a complex environment.
  • Experience of partnering with a business will be helpful.
  • A confident understanding of HR best practice and employment legislation.
  • Strong ability to influence and coach others to improve performance and deliver best practice.
  • A customer centric approach, always striving to deliver service above customer expectations.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and the ability to work independently when needed, with the ability to quickly build strong and effective relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A driving license free from excessive penalties.
