Job Summary
To carry out a supervisory role to a team of electricians. To meet and liaise with clients, prepare estimates and manage electrical project works. Repair, install and maintain electrical equipment, ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ and to Industry Standard.
Main Responsibilities
•Day to day supervision for engineers and apprentices
•Surveying electrical installation, providing reports and estimated costs for defects
•Preparation of quotes for electrical works
•Carry out and oversee electrical repairs and remedial works
•Organise and manage electrical domestic installations and commercial installations
•Fault diagnostics and repairs knowledge of IEE regulations. Electrical testing and inspections thermal image surveying
•To ensure that all aspects of electrical works including test and inspections compliance checks are carried out in accordance with current British Standards
•To report on a daily basis to manager on the status of all works within the Department and advise in good time, problems of time-scale or resources
•Co-ordination and day to day management of direct & self-employed Engineers, plant and equipment, to ensure that duties required are carried out efficiently and effectively within in the requirements of the company
•Any other duties as reasonably requested
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will
•Be an Approved Electrician with testing qualification
•Ideally have previous Qualified Supervisor experience but not mandatory
•Be able to plan and manage electrical installations
•Have supervisory and estimating experience and be able to compile estimates from schedule of rates
•Experience in electrical fault diagnostics & electrical installations works
•Have good practical and problem-solving skills
•Have the ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams
•Have the ability to work carefully, methodically and safely
•Have the ability to ensure that all work is carried out in line with the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’
•Have good written and verbal communications skills
•Be recognised and trained to work with vulnerable persons
•Have knowledge of Risk Assessment process
•Be willing to work in confined spaces
•Have willingness to work at height and in all sorts of weather conditions as and when required
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical installations
•C&G 2391 or equivalent
•ECS Gold card
•18th Edition
•Asbestos Awareness
