About us
Founded in 1830, UCL has one of the largest philosophy departments in the UK and is a world-leading centre for teaching and research. All major areas of philosophy can be studied at UCL. We cover branches such as political thought, epistemology and metaphysics, and also draw upon the writings of Ancient and Modern philosophers to place our programmes in a historical context. The departmental administrative team provides a wide range of administrative support to facilitate the delivery of teaching and research activity. We work proactively and collaboratively with academic colleagues across the department and in UCL Central Professional Services in order to make UCL a great place to work and study.
