The role:


The Learning Area of Business and Technology is seeking to appoint experienced, talented and highly motivated bank Lecturers to join our Economics department. With experience of teaching Economics in a post-16 setting, applicants should possess a relevant degree and hold/have a willingness to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.

The successful candidate will be able to successfully teach on our A Level Economics programme and be able to deliver Economics modules upon other courses within the learning area up to Level 5. (The ability to also teach Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales qualification is highly desirable).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applicants will have a commitment to continuous improvement, contribute to curriculum developments and assist with the effective planning within courses.
  • The ideal candidate will deliver high quality teaching and learning to include effective use of ILT, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential in terms of academic, social and personal
  • To work with the Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment, and successful completion
  • Applicants will have a commitment to continuous improvement, contribute effectively to curriculum development, extracurricular activity and assist with the planning and marketing of courses.

About you:

  • Possess Degree in Economics or other relevant degree.
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards this qualification
  • Able to demonstrate highly successful experience of teaching A level Economics
  • Excellent organisational skills and a team player
  • Be prepared to work flexibly to meet needs of the curriculum and its learners.
  • Based at either the Gorseinon campus, the successful candidate will deliver on A Level Economics and Economics modules across other Level 3/4/5 Business programmes and the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate is highly desirable.

Full-Time Equivalent Salary: £25,371 - £49,934 per annum per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
