Location: Kirkheaton, Huddersfield
Hours: Approximately 16-20 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm, term time only (with potential for additional hours if required)
Salary: £14–£16 per hour (depending on experience)

Role Purpose
Beyond the Physical is looking for a warm, energetic, and creative individual to deliver engaging sensory play sessions for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers — alongside their parents and carers. This is a hands-on, heart-led role, perfect for someone who loves working with young children and enjoys helping families make special memories together.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver structured sensory and play-based sessions for children aged 0–5 years.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all families.
- Use music, movement, props, storytelling, and themed activities to spark curiosity and support early learning.
- Build positive relationships with both children and adults, encouraging participation and connection.
- Adapt activities to meet the needs of different ages and abilities.
- Ensure equipment and resources are safe, clean, and well-presented.
- Support the promotion of sessions locally (occasional social media involvement if required).
- Assist with set-up and pack-away of session spaces before and after activities.
Note: All booking administration, payments, and customer enquiries will be handled by Beyond the Physical — allowing you to focus fully on delivering fantastic sessions.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working with young children (0–5 years) in a play, childcare, or educational setting.
- Warm, friendly, and approachable manner with excellent communication skills.
- Creativity and confidence in leading interactive activities.
- Good organisational skills and reliability.
- Awareness of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (required before starting).
Desirable:
- Early Years qualification (Level 2 or above) or equivalent experience.
- Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training.
- Experience in music, movement, or performance.
- Knowledge of sensory play and child development.
Working Conditions
- This is an active role involving floor-based play and moving light equipment.
- Some flexibility may be required for occasional special events or additional hours.
This role may also include other reasonable duties as required to support the effective operation and growth of Beyond the Physical.

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
