Clear Home Improvements Ltd is a leading local installer of conservatories, doors, double-glazed windows, flat roofs & roofline finishing, and garage doors. Our team is focused on high quality workmanship, attention to detail and great customer service. Based in Launceston, we cover Cornwall, and North and West Devon.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of installation processes for windows, doors and conservatories, and have experience working with various materials and tools. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that installations are fitted securely and efficiently, contributing to the overall quality of our projects.
Main responsibilities:
To install uPVC and aluminium windows/doors, flat/warm roof systems, roofline finishing, conservatories and other glazing elements as part of a small team – from the beginning of installation to completion.
To provide effective communication with customers, colleagues and other relevant personnel.
Duties
- Install items in accordance with building regulations and safety standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, fitting, and sealing items.
- Plumb and align items to ensure they are level and secure.
- Conduct trimming and finishing to ensure good quality installations.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand installation requirements.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople on-site, to ensure seamless project completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience as an experienced Window/Door/Conservatory Fitter.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is essential.
- Familiarity with electrical installations related to window/door fittings is advantageous.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail in all aspects of work.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
