Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of optical principles and be adept at working with various types of eyewear. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in helping customers select the right eyewear solutions to meet their vision needs while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal preferences.
- Accurately fit and adjust glasses to ensure comfort and proper alignment.
- Conduct lens measurements and provide technical support for lens fitting.
- Maintain an organised and well-stocked display of eyewear products.
- Collaborate with optometrists to interpret prescriptions and provide necessary information regarding lens options.
- Manage laboratory tasks, including the fabrication of lenses and repairs as needed.
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in eyewear fashion and technology to better assist customers.
Experience
- Previous experience as an Optician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Laboratory experience is advantageous, enabling efficient lens fabrication remote edging and repairs.
- A solid understanding of anatomy related to the eye is essential for providing accurate advice on eyewear solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues alike.
