Hours:
07.30 to 20.30
7 shifts across a fortnight; 3 shifts on week 1 and and 4 shifts on week 2, including Weekends and Bank holidays. Rota repeats on from week 3.
13 hour shifts (including 1 hour paid break)
Paid Sleeping Nights are also available.

Please note this home is for children and young people with learning disabilities.
- You will create positive relationships with the children, meeting their needs and safeguarding them at all times.
- You will support children and young people’s timetables, 24-hour curriculum within a learning community, their chosen activities and independence.
- Consistency and organisation skills are key skills we are looking for.
- Your role will allow you to meet a variety of children and young people who have learning disabilities and put the child at the centre of everything we do.
- Manage challenging behaviour and provide personal care, enabling the children to maintain and improve their skills and daily lives in line with individual care plans.
- Help to provide a nurturing, positive and safe environment for children and young people, ensuring that statutory obligations are met to the highest standards possible.
- Have direct responsibility for designated children or young people and ensure that each child and young person is given the appropriate care and support to achieve their full potential.
- Provide clear and concise advice and specialist guidance to a range of children and families.
- Perform the duties of a keyworker for an identified child.
- Promote and encourage a multi-agency approach to support the child.
- Use IT to write detailed accurate and factual written reports.
- Use initiative to resolve problems within given parameters.
- Assist in the provision and preparation of meals in the Home and undertake other domestic tasks including cooking and laundry/ironing.
You will be required to commit to achieving the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within 2 years of beginning employment

Please note that you must be 22 years old or above to apply as per children’s homes regulations. You must also have a valid driving licence (two years preferred).

Essential Experience :
Preferred 2 years Previous experience of working with children who have Learning Disabilities and who may also have physical and sensory disabilities for at least 1 year in a residential setting.
Previous experience of working with children who may have challenging behaviour in an residential settings.
Essential Qualifications:
NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care
The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and enhanced DBS check and you will be subject to a rigorous safer recruitment process and must adhere to a strict code of conduct regarding your behaviour at all times.
