Position Summary

The Customer Contracts Associate will play a key role in supporting the transfer and migration of customer contracts during major business transformations such as mergers, divestitures, or restructuring initiatives. This junior-level position is responsible for reviewing existing customer agreements across Finastra’s product and service portfolio, identifying key terms as well as any areas of potential risk. The role requires strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to contribute to a high-volume, fast-paced project environment.

Note: This position is approximately 6 months in length with the option to extend further, as required.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • Contract Review & Analysis:
    Review existing customer contracts to extract and document key terms, obligations, and transferability clauses, while identifying potential legal or operational risks.

  • Team Collaboration & Validation:
    Work collaboratively within the team to cross-check and validate findings, ensuring consistency and accuracy across contract reviews.

  • Data & Dashboard Management:
    Support the maintenance of contract tracking dashboards and data repositories, and assist in preparing summaries and visualizations for presentation to the wider divestiture committee.

  • Support Contract Transfers:
    Assist in preparing documentation and coordinating with internal teams to facilitate the smooth transfer of contracts to acquiring entities.

  • Customer & Stakeholder Support:
    Respond to internal inquiries related to contract details and support customer communications as needed under the direction of the Manager.

  • Compliance & Risk Awareness:
    Flag potential legal, commercial, or operational risks identified during contract reviews to the Customer Contracts, Transfer Manager.

  • Process Improvement:
    Contribute to the refinement of templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and consistency.

Required Experience & Skills:

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a contracts, legal operations, or customer support role.

  • Exposure to contract review or working in a transformation environment (e.g., M&A, divestiture) is an asset.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification or coursework in contract law is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Basic understanding of contract structures and legal terminology

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Collaborative and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
