About the Role and our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a candidate who will relish the opportunity to build on the successful relationships we have developed with schools and communities during the last three years. You will continue to develop our learning programme, ensuring we connect with new audiences, developing innovative learning content that connect with our Museum and Archive collections. As part of our wider team you will also play an important role in supporting the delivery of our annual cultural programme. Based at Kingston Museum key responsibilities include:

  • Experience of developing and delivering learning programmes
  • Experience of engagement and outreach work and working with diverse audiences in an innovative and creative way
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including teachers, youth workers, voluntary organisations, and RBK colleagues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the National Curriculum is also essential

We bring together the skills across different areas, collaborating with our diverse communities to deliver ambitious public programmes that celebrate our heritage while reflecting the borough's evolving contemporary identity. The Cultural Learning and Participation Officer is a key member of the team and will work collaborative with different stakeholders to widen access to our collections and support key cultural initiatives.

We are in the process of updating our payscales in line with the pay award for NJC, Chief Officers and Chief Executives for April 2025 therefore please take this into account when viewing the salary on this position.
