This includes understanding, applying, and adapting Lean process Improvement, the Scottish Approach to Service Design (SatSD), and other improvement methodologies to redesign services across Council and partners.

This is a role where you’ll help shape better public services that make a real difference in people’s lives—enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and outcomes for communities across Fife.

As part of your interview, you will be asked to deliver a 10-minute presentation on the topic: “Redesigning a Public Service Using Lean and User-Centred Design.”

In your presentation, please describe a project where you applied user-centred design and Lean principles in approaches to improve or redesign a public service. Highlight the context and challenges, the tools and methodologies you used (such as process mapping, user research, or the Scottish Approach to Service Design), and how these helped you meet user needs and deliver measurable improvements. The panel will be particularly interested in how you engaged stakeholders, overcame obstacles, and evaluated the impact of your work.
