Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations. As a Kitchen Porter, you will support the kitchen staff by ensuring that all kitchen areas are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, including dishwashing, cleaning surfaces, and sanitizing equipment.
- Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Support the culinary team during meal service by ensuring that all necessary tools and ingredients are readily available.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained at all times.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Participate in catering events as required, assisting with setup, service, and cleanup.
Skills
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
- Familiarity with menu planning and fine dining standards is advantageous.
- Strong food preparation skills with a focus on cooking techniques and food handling practices.
- Experience in the restaurant or food industry is highly desirable.
- Culinary experience with proficient knife skills is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining high levels of productivity.
