We are looking for a cook for our small residential home. We have 26 residents who really look forward to their meal times. Are you an enthusiastic cook but have never worked in catering, this could be the job for you, it is a lot less stressful than a professional kitchen. Successful applicant will initially shadow one of our other cooks to get used to the routine etc.
The hours available are every Thursday and every other Sunday (so 1 day one week and 2 days the following week)--all shifts are 8am-4.45pm. New applicants will be required to help out with holiday leave when other cooks are on holiday. We are looking for a cook who enjoys good homemade cooking, things like lasagna, roasts, cottage pie, fish and chips etc etc. Menus are pre planned by the Manager and we are always open to new suggestions for our residents.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, energetic and person centred who is happy to adapt to changing diets of our residents. The job also involves ensuring that the required daily paperwork is completed on each shift. All cooks cover each others shifts when one is on holiday.
All applicants will be required to have a DBS check which we will arrange and they will also be required to complete the care certificate during their first few months employment--again this is organised and assisted by us.
Do you enjoy cooking? have you ever thought you would like to do it for a job, this is a great way to start.
New applicants will shadow current cooks one or two days a week for a month to help get used to the routine.
