Role Purpose
The Client Support Advisor will play a crucial role in providing Open Door’s service to Taunton’s homeless community, helping to reduce rough sleeping and providing essential daily support. Reporting to the Charity Manager, the post holder will be responsible for having direct contact with the client base. The role involves assessing individual needs, developing a personalised approach to meet their needs and, where possible, help clients transition into stable housing. The postholder will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory agencies, external providers, and support services, to ensure a coordinated approach to addressing rough sleeping and homelessness. This role requires a compassionate and proactive individual who can build trust with vulnerable populations and advocate for their needs. The Client Support Advisor will assist clients with any practical needs such as laundry, clothing, handling mail, messages, and phone charging.

The post holder will work closely with the Manager and other members of our small team of staff and volunteers. The role requires an individual who is committed to the aims of the charity and who is flexible and co-operative in their attitude to working styles and practices.
