Job Title: Children’s Residential Care Worker

Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About Us
Beacon Childcare provides safe, nurturing, and high-quality residential care for children and young people. Our homes support children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), many of whom have experienced trauma and need stability, understanding, and therapeutic care.
We are now looking for dedicated and resilient Residential Care Workers to join our team in Rugeley, Staffordshire. This is a rewarding role where you will directly support children aged 8–18 to achieve their potential and build brighter futures.
The Role
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in the lives of children and young people. You will provide day-to-day care, support, and guidance while helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment. Working as part of a team, you will support young people in line with their individual care plans and act as a positive role model at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Build trusting, supportive relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Promote independence, resilience, and life skills.
- Support with education, leisure, and daily living activities.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
- Contribute to care planning, record keeping, and reviews.
- Work as part of a team to create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment.
About You
- Experience working with children and young people (residential care experience desirable but not essential).
- NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care (or willingness to work towards it with full support provided).
- Understanding of safeguarding, child development, and trauma-informed practice.
- Resilient, compassionate, and committed to making a difference.
- Flexible to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
