Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the restaurant's menu specifications.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items, showcasing creativity and culinary skills.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service and timely delivery of dishes.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed, minimising waste through effective management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Maintain equipment and kitchen tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills, with an emphasis on quality and presentation.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for cooking and helping others develop their culinary skills is highly desirable.
