Casual Community Meals Helper/Driver

How you'll make a difference:

As a Casual Community Meals Driver you will make a difference by delivering nutritious meals to members of the community who may not be able to cook for themselves.

What you will be doing:

• You will be part of a dedicated team providing a vital service to a range of customers throughout South Gloucestershire.
• Working independently, you will have a regular round providing the opportunity to get to know your customers and build relationships.
• As a driver you will be able to navigate your way around the South Gloucestershire area confidently to deliver community meals in a timely manner.

What we need from you:

• It is essential that you have a full driving license for this post. Ideally you will have knowledge of the South Gloucestershire area.
• You must be comfortable working independently. You will have good communication skills and be confident in interacting with people.
• We require you to be confident in making decisions knowing when to escalate any concerns.
• You will enjoy working at pace, able to balance your schedule with the needs of your customer.

What you need to know:

• Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays.
• Based at the Council Offices, Badminton Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5AF.
• Working on a ad-hoc basis.
• Allowance: Sunday enhancement (time & half)
• Salaries pro-rated to hours worked.
• Your uniform will be provided.
• We will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required.
• Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.

Interviews anticipated at the beginning of August 2025.
