The Role
Carpenter Multi Trade 7 month FTC opportunity! Due to continued successful growth here at Fortem, we are looking for an experienced Carpenter Multi trade to join our Voids team at Amplius Housing which covers a patch in Rushden, Northamptonshire cross to Peterborough and St Neots and surrounding area so travel is essential. Core Hours are Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm + Company Van, Fuel card, Power Tools, uniform and PPE all provided! Ensuring all work is undertaken to a high standard with the minimum of supervision. You take ownership of work, aiming for successful turnarounds times, operating within the company Health and Safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time parameters, whilst being courteous and professional on site.
The Customer
Fortem’s successful contract with Amplius supports nearly 8,000 houses, and we’re expecting that to increase significantly in 2025. Our contract includes Repairs & Maintenance, Voids, Complex Works and FRA workstreams with Planned Works and Preventative Maintenance as well.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working on Void properties within Social Housing Completing Carpentry and basic plumbing repairs work for all social housing properties as per the specification, working in a timely and productive manner with specific turnaround deadlines. Advising Supervisor in a timely manner when other trades are required Working in partnership with other operatives to complete projects. Recording and submitting accurate data using relevant business systems electronic devices Affording excellent customer service to client representatives Arranging purchase of materials required to deliver the works in a planned and efficient manner Comply with safeguarding policy and H&S standards at all times Operating within the company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures Using a PDA smart phone to correspond daily with colleagues to update progress and completion information for your allocated work
What you will need
Essential: • NVQ/qualifications in relation to relevant trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) or equivalent, however anyone qualified by experience will also be considered • Full, driving licence (max 5 points) with no bans in last 5 years. This role will require a satisfactory DBS check before starting. Desirable but not essential: • Social housing experience
