Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Elder Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to elderly individuals. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a good command of English, and the ability to follow care plans meticulously. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients, fostering a supportive environment that promotes independence and dignity.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
- Support clients in following their individual care plans, ensuring their needs are met effectively
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in their condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Drive clients to appointments or social outings as needed, ensuring their safety during transport
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes
Qualifications
- Previous experience in elder care or a related field is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with care home environments and home care practices
- Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others
