Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to following care plans, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience in home care is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
- Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging social interaction and engagement in activities.
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the living environment for all residents.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
- Drive residents to appointments or social outings as required (driving licence preferred).
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills in English are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software are beneficial.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others is crucial for this role.
