Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, demonstrating proficiency in the use of hand and power tools. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, physically fit, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The Brick Mason will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, block, and other materials.
Duties
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry to construct walls, arches, and other structures.
- Measure and cut materials to ensure precise fitting.
- Mix mortar and other bonding agents according to specifications.
- Use hand tools such as trowels, chisels, and levels to shape and align materials.
- Operate power tools safely for cutting and shaping masonry materials.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry is essential.
- Familiarity with roofing techniques is advantageous.
- Ability to weld is a plus but not mandatory.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to masonry work.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
