Your Role in Building Brighter Futures

As a Teaching Assistant at Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant (see the JD for accountabilities):

Under the supervision of the class teacher and/or SENCO, to undertake a range of directed activities to support the educational and development needs of pupils. This will involve assisting teachers with the organisational and maintenance of classroom resources and to contribute to the supervision and welfare of pupils throughout the school.

What You’ll Bring to Futura:

Our Autism centre is a specialist provision with 2 classes of 8 learners in each. Learners have a range of social communication and interaction needs. You will work within a team of skilled support staff who work hard for the benefit of all children. The Autism Centre is well-resourced with a sensory garden, sensory and calm room and access to mainstream facilities.

Working Arrangements: 20 hours over 3 days Monday to Wednesday 8:30am - 3:30pm (4pm finish on Tuesdays for a team meeting). Fixed term contract linked to maternity - up to 12 months
