About the Post
Are you a proactive and analytical administrator who enjoys working with data to make a difference? We are seeking an Attendance Monitoring Administrator to join our dedicated Registry Services Directorate at the University of Suffolk.
This pivotal role supports the academic success and wellbeing of our students by tracking attendance, identifying engagement risks, and leading timely interventions. You will work with students and colleagues across the institution to ensure compliance with university policies and external regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In this important role, you will:
- Monitor attendance data across the Ipswich Campus and London Centre, identifying trends, risks and patterns of disengagement.
- Provide early intervention by supporting and conducting attendance-related meetings and putting in place attendance agreements with students.
- Offer accurate advice and guidance to students, including those facing challenges with engagement or personal circumstances.
- Handle sensitive conversations, addressing poor attendance behaviours with confidence and compassion.
- Apply and uphold attendance monitoring measures tailored to groups with specific compliance needs—such as apprentices, UKVI-sponsored students, and PGR students.
- Contribute to wider retention strategies by collaborating with student administration, student life, and academic teams.
- Support key university activities such as registration and induction, including undertaking right-to-study checks.
- Support continuous improvement of data quality and administrative processes across the team.
- Comply with all university policies including data protection, safeguarding, and health & safety.

The Registry Services Directorate is at the heart of the University’s academic infrastructure, coordinating core processes that support the student journey from enrolment through to graduation.

- Data-savvy and confident using digital systems to monitor student activity and engagement.
- Resilient and empathetic, able to hold challenging conversations in a supportive manner.
- Highly organised, with excellent time management and communication skills.
- A natural collaborator who works effectively across teams and understands when to escalate issues appropriately.
You’ll also bring:
- A Level 4 qualification or equivalent relevant experience (a higher education qualification is desirable).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student record systems.
- An understanding of the student lifecycle and/or experience working in a university or regulated environment.
- A strong commitment to inclusivity, accountability, and professional development.
