Join us as an Associate Director in our Large Corporate team working within Business and Professional Services.
Working closely with your assigned Corporate Bankers in all sales support activity to drive the growth and management of their portfolios. Proactively developing appropriate solutions to exceed client expectations and maximise overall satisfaction and advocacy. Supporting the implementation of complex transactions through effective deal management and use of a strong internal network. Assisting with business development activities and managing the on-boarding of new client relationships.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Undertaking or having completed Credit Skills Development or ifs School of Finance examinations, or equivalent, would be an advantage as the jobholder will be expected to completed CSD and risk accreditation within 12 months of being in the role
High level of interpersonal skills demonstrated by excellent oral and written communication
Team focused individual, with the confidence to successfully interact with some of the Bank’s most sophisticated and complex clients
Must be comfortable building effective working relationships working with internal partners across the Barclays Group in order to best serve our clients
Ability to work highly effectively to tight deadlines
Keenness to develop a deep knowledge of the Business & Professional Services sectors
Strategic thinking – ability to assess and consider new business development opportunities through knowledge of markets and internal / external data sources
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
Good awareness and knowledge of Barclays Corporate & Investment Banking products & services. Detailed knowledge of profit drivers (income, RWAs, pricing, credit grading, etc.)
Understanding of complex debt and organisational structures
Ability to proactively take personal initiative in terms of planning, organising and balancing workflow commitments
Good understanding of the policies and strategies as they relate to the demands of the Team’s client base
Previous experience of dealing with clients/customers
PowerPoint, Pitch Book and Presentational skills
This role will be based in Birmingham or Manchester

Purpose of the role
To manage debt relationships with high-value corporate clients and potential clients Provide support to the bank's senior management team in setting strategic direction and, managing debt structuring risk across the organisation.
Accountabilities
Collaboration with account managers to structure, recommend and fully implement relevant debt products and services to existing and potential clients.
Management of debt structuring, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness. .
Relationship management of debt structuring stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
Management of key stakeholder relationships within target companies to understand their needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Management of debt structuring risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s debt structuring and compliance functions. .
Monitoring the financial performance of each transaction completed as well as the wider debt structuring department, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
