Reporting to the Director, Strategy Planning & Execution, the incumbent will be part of the Business Strategy and Reporting unit of the Chief Operating Officer of the Americas and EMEA. This team is responsible for driving key strategic priorities for the EMEA region divisions along with supporting the operating rhythm for the leadership team.
The incumbent will have the opportunity to collaborate with business leaders across multiple functions, with an emphasis on Distribution, Marketing, Insights & Analytics, Product & Market Research, Finance, Investments, Corporate Strategy and Legal.
What we are looking for:
An experienced Associate who can develop strategy to ensure the firm's continued successful growth and profitability. Ability to identify, investigate, evaluate and negotiate acquisitions/divestitures and strategic business alliances that are aligned with long-range goals.
Develops and implements the firm's business strategy and monitors results. Includes development and review of growth and diversification and financial business plans (e.g., mergers, acquisitions and divestitures). Aligns objectives with human capital and financial resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Strategy Director, you will support the formulation and implementation guidance of strategic priorities with a focus on the implementation planning phase
- Leading cross-functional working teams, tracking progress, elevating issues as appropriate to drive results and collaborating with patterns across the firm to “interlock” strategic initiatives
- Helping to guide EMEA operating rhythm by collaborating with leaders across relevant functions to develop and manage meeting agendas, maintaining meeting records and ensure decisions and tasks from meetings are communicated and executed and track progress
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of the EMEA strategy narrative, including the development of presentations and written communications for key internal audiences
- Supporting the activities of various boards (Invesco corporate and EMEA regulated entity boards), senior executive leadership and internal functions in preparation for earnings calls and other high stakes engagements
- Developing and maintaining key client and industry trends in support of delivering objective, fact-driven advice and guidance on strategy and narrative, including developments with competitors or analogue industries
- Supporting other ad hoc, complex, high impact projects
What you can bring:
- Proven experience in financial services, with a top-tier financial services firm (e.g. consulting, banking, private equity, investing) or as a part of in-house Corporate Strategy/Development team
- Demonstrated interest in and understanding of financial markets and the asset management industry
- Strong inter-personal skills, with ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization and to drive stakeholder consensus and influence outcomes
- Superior problem-solving skills and critical thinking, with excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail, and familiarity with competitor and industry research techniques or due diligence
- A team player, with willingness to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity and Facility with Powerpoint and Excel
