Shopmobility Melton Mowbray exists to promote the welfare and independence of people with impaired mobility living in, or visiting, Melton Mowbray.
The scheme provides the loan of manual and electric wheelchairs and scooters to enable access to shops, business and places of interest in Melton Mowbray town centre.
The Assistant to the Coordinator/Administrator will help with the management of a small office, sharing the workload between them where appropriate.
Candidates should be computer literate (we use Microsoft Office) and ideally will have some experience of using Social Media, as a tool to promote what we offer.
This position would suit someone who wishes to re-enter work on reduced hours or who wishes to improve their CV with some part time employment.
Duties
Office management of the Scheme and the Scheme’s volunteers.
Preparing scooters for the day’s customers and returning them to the store afterwards – some physical effort may be required on occasions. Training will be provided.
Liaising with local organisations to increase the Scheme’s reach.
Work with the Coordinator/Administrator to identify opportunities to improve our offer to customers and improve income generation so that we become less reliant on grant funding.
Scheme Opening Hours:
Tuesday: 9:30am - 3pm
Friday: 9:30am – 12:30pm (March to December)
Saturday: 9:30 am - 12.30pm
Occasional Management Committee meetings (1-2 hours every 4 - 6 weeks).
Skills
Candidates should be computer literate and be prepared to ‘muck in’ as it can be a hands-on job.
