Assistant Professor in International Relations


Salary is no less than £65,244 per annum and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website


Based in the Department of International Relations, the post holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School through conducting and publishing outstanding quality research, engaging in high quality teaching as instructed by the Head of Department, and participating in the Department and wider School activities.


All candidates must have expertise and research interests in International Relations, with a specialism in International Security. They must show a clear, well developed and viable strategy for future outstanding research that has the potential to result in world-leading publications. The successful candidate must be able to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses on International Relations, and on International Security


Candidates will need a completed PhD, or be close to obtaining a PhD, in International Relations, Political Science, or a related field by the post start date. Candidates should also have a proven ability, as evidenced by existing publications, or potential to publish in top refereed international journals, or with highly respected book publishers, in the field of international relations.


Successful candidates should have excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team with colleagues across the School.
