ABOUT THE ROLE
As our new Assistant Finance Business Partner, you will support the Divisional Finance Director and Business Partner team by delivering insightful analysis and recommendations that enhance business performance and decision-making. This includes supporting sales teams on day to day commercial work, providing insight and analysis of distributor/commercial issues., and contributing to strategic and operational planning meetings such as regional and market reviews. The position also requires managing the annual pricing review process, maintaining accurate pricing files in collaboration with content strategy and international sales teams.
Additionally, the role includes analysing pricing and margins to support effective decisions and empower executive leadership in contract negotiations. It involves conducting financial due diligence on new and existing partners to assess risk and guide future relationships, as well as supporting third-party contracts to ensure service delivery. The position calls for specifying ad hoc reports and suggesting improvements to FP&A outputs, building market intelligence to inform decision-making, and offering commercial insight and analysis to the wider division on everyday business matters.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
ABOUT YOU
While this role is within the finance team, prior experience in finance is not required — strong Excel skills and a proactive approach to learning are essential.
- Professional finance qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Strong Excel skills – comfortable with pivot tables, vlookups and formulas etc.
- Ability to implement new ideas, with drive to push through
- Able to analyse data to solve problems and make informed recommendations
- Good communication skills
- Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA is an advantage
- Previous experience in a complex international environment
- Able to work independently
- Have the ability to manage a complex workload with multiple deadlines and stakeholders
