Overview
We are seeking an assistant estimator to join our small office team. The successful candidate will assist in estimating, job costing & other general duties based around construction sub contracting,
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects based on specifications, drawings, and other relevant information.
- Conduct thorough analysis of project requirements to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborate with main contractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labour costs to enhance estimating accuracy.
- Prepare and present estimates in a clear and professional manner for client review.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an assistant estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
- Good analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in using estimating software, Microsoft Office, excel, ect,
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Previous relevant experience in construction or a related field would be advantageous.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Freelance
Pay: £24,420.00-£29,000.00 per year
